Summit Search Group Calgary is partnering with a well-established company in the dental industry to find a Controller for their growing company. The ideal candidate is a technically strong CA with demonstrated experience within a cross-border organization with complex IFRS and US/Canadian GAAP accounting, tax, and logistic requirements. The candidate should be a self-motivated, detail orientated business leader with the ability to prioritize tasks while working in a dynamic fast-paced environment. The Controller is a cross-functional leader within the organization responsible for the integration and continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures within the company and responsible for overall company accounting processes and functions and for overseeing day-to-day operations of the accounting team.

• Leading the overall accounting functions and operational processes including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, and A/P, A/R
• Preparing and presenting the financial statements and MD&A across multiple North American subsidiaries and business units in accordance with relevant public accounting principles
• Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closes
• Developing, maintaining, and improving industry leading accounting systems, policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Preparing tax filings and overseeing company tax compliance, strategy, and transfer pricing policies
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant local, provincial, state, and federal reporting requirements and financial accounting standards and principals
• Acting as a liaison with auditors, legal counsel, regulators, tax authorities and other stakeholders relative to company financial issues
• Engaging with internal IT, Operations, and Finance teams to support the budget, forecast and capital planning processes through the provision of accurate financial and costing information by relevant business units.

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, commerce, or a related field with a CA designation and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, including at least 3 years in a senior accounting or finance role. Consideration will be given to individuals with public accounting or audit experience, strong internal controls experience, experience in organizations with multiple legal subsidiaries and business divisions, and experience with Microsoft NAV. Compensation includes a salary of $140-150K and full company benefits.
