Civil Survey Support Technician

Our client, a dynamic surveying equipment distribution company is looking for a passionate and dedicated bilingual  Civil Survey Support Technician in Ottawa, Ontario to technically support customers with their equipment and promote products to their Ontario customers.

As a full-time Civil Survey Support Technician, you will be part of a 24 hour support team, on rotation.

 

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Providing technical support and quality support to users surrounding their products and software, both orally and in writing
  • Analyzing, diagnosing, resolving discrepancies, answering questions, and providing general support to clients
  • Participating in installations and system maintenance on the customer’s sites
  • Calibrating measurement devices, performing software installations and program updates
  • Clearly documenting interventions and developing reference tools
  • Performing trainings and technical demonstrations of the company’s instruments to clients
  • Advising and retaining Ontario’s target clientele
  • Being a part of the 24 hour support team (on rotation)
  • Participating in the management of inventory and of the branch’s rental center
  • Participating in all development and technical projects approved by management

 

Required skills and knowledge you will need for this role:

  • Full bilingualism (English and French)
  • Training and relevant experience in surveying and technical support
  • General knowledge of computer science and surveying
  • Excellent customer approach and strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • The ability to learn the technical and functional operation of their products
  • You must hold a valid driver’s license and have flexibility for schedules and travel
  • You will possess recognized ability to work on a team and manage priorities
  • You have flexibility, availability, proactivity, diplomacy, and autonomy
