Concordia Wellness Projects Inc. (CWPI) has partnered with Summit Search Group to lead the search for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Organization Background:

Concordia Wellness Projects Inc. (CWPI)’s mission is to provide outstanding wellness and housing services, in a way that reflects Mennonite Christian values and demonstrates a passion to serve our community.

CWPI is comprised of Concordia Village and the Concordia Hip & Knee Institute. Concordia Villages I-III offer assisted living for over 330 seniors. Concordia Village IV, which opened in September 2014, offers affordable housing in 45 suites, with mental health supports for approximately 50% of residents who value that. The planned construction of Concordia Village V valued at over $100 million will begin in 2022.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified individual who will provide leadership to CWPI within our Mission, Vision, Values, and Board-approved budgets.

Reporting to the Board Chair, the CEO is responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the CWPI Board of Directors and its Committees. The CEO leads CWPI’s leadership team in business planning, financial planning, and reporting activities. The CEO also leads the design of customer service and business processes, to enhance our responsiveness to the health and housing needs of our residents, while enhancing the effectiveness of our service delivery and environment. The CEO Will lead major building project initiatives including the construction of Concordia Villa V valued at over $110 million, beginning in 2022.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Functions as the chair of the Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic planning, operational management, and reporting/monitoring activities of the CWPI.
  • Works with Finance/HR Services Director to ensure the accurate and timely reporting and monitoring of financial information.
  • Leads the development of CWPI revenue generation initiatives.
  • Supports/ensures the development of indicators to measure levels of organizational productivity and performance.
  • Supports, as needed, the review and redesign of selected business processes at CWPI to achieve goals of making systems more efficient, standardizing processes, and reducing costs where possible.
  • Ensures the effective human resource management within CWPI policies and procedures.
  • Ensures, through ongoing capital assessments, that the current and future capital needs of CWPI will be met, including the construction of Concordia Village V.
  • Leads the development of long-term capital and financing plans for CWPI, acting as a liaison with Concordia Hospital and the Concordia Foundation.
  • Acts as the CWPI lead on capital redevelopment, construction, and renovation plans, and approved projects.

Qualifications:

  • Significant administrative leadership and management experience in health and housing settings.
  • Experience with accounting, MIS reporting, and health and housing sector policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Health Care Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of health and housing with a good understanding of public policy and a regional system of health and housing service administration and delivery.
  • Knowledge of finance and human resource management.
  • Proven leadership, creativity, integrity, initiative, and communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal, and relationship and team building skills.

The CWPI is looking for an experienced collaborative leader to provide strategic and operation support to the Board and lead business planning to advance and achieve the Mission and goals of the organization. You will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success, helping to drive the organization’s development and guide it towards long-term success. We expect you to be a prudent manager and inspiring leader, with a strong business mindset.
